Ethanol Company
With so much media about ethanol you may be in the process of separating fact from fiction. A good start would be learning how an ethanol company produces this controversial fuel and how it may or may not benefit you and the environment. Ethenol is a renewable form of fuel made from plants. In the United States, common sources are corn and wheat. In the Caribbean and Brazil sugarcane is used because it is so plentiful. Ethanol made from the plant fiber cellulose is also becoming popular with many manufacturers.
There are two types of procedures used to make ethanol fuel and they are dry milling and wet milling. The first step in either process is grinding the biomass (i.e. the original plant material being used) to make it easier to work with. After the material is finely ground the sugar is extracted to create ethanol alcohol. This is the same alcohol found in consumable products like vodka, gin and whiskey albeit in lower concentrations. However the difference is that ethanol fuel has another substance like gasoline added to it to turn it from a beverage to a fuel.
Dry mill ethanol fermentation simply means the finely ground product is used dry. It is more cost efficient and a common method used with biomass like corn, barley and sugarcane. Wet mill fermentation involves soaking the grain in a solution to make it easier to process. It is more expensive but important when processing materials like corn husks and other high fiber plant materials. Different companies make the decision as to whether or not to use wet or dry mill processing.
When researching an ethanol company in which to invest you should take a look at various ones and learn more about what they have to offer. There are some large companies in the USA you should definitely consider. Archer Daniels Midland is the biggest company producing ethanol fuel, although Pacific Ethanol Inc. is another noteworthy producer. These companies not only produce corn based ethanol but also other types like cellulose based ethanol. They also work on finding new innovations to make this technology more efficient. You will find various companies all over the U.S. like the aforementioned who make ethanol fuel.
